It speaks the PostgreSQL wire protocol but is built from scratch in Zig, with a custom LSM-forest storage engine (zdb) on local disk or S3-compatible storage, Raft-based replication, read-your-writes consistency and instant database/table branching, aiming to run thousands of tenants per process without VACUUM, PgBouncer or Patroni.
