Axle Energy is a London-based energy flexibility software company founded in February 2023. Its single API connects distributed energy assets — EVs and chargers, home batteries, heat pumps and solar — to electricity and balancing markets, acting as B2B back-end infrastructure for virtual power plants. It sells to device OEMs, energy suppliers and fleet/charging operators such as SolarEdge, myenergi, Pod Point, GivEnergy, Easee and Monta, who pass earnings back to households. The platform coordinates over 300,000 connected devices and more than 2GW of shiftable capacity.

Novele is a Stamford, Connecticut-based building energy company pairing its AI-powered energy software BoardOS with EnergyBoard, a roughly 2-inch-thick, wall-mounted, fire-safe lithium-ion battery, deployed in offices, hospitals and big-box retail. BoardOS predicts demand spikes and switches buildings between grid and battery power to cut demand charges. The company traces to a 2015 net-zero buildings venture and relaunched in its current form in 2023; customers include several Fortune 50 companies.
