xAI, founded in 2023 in San Francisco, is an AI company competing with OpenAI. Its primary product is the Grok chatbot, available to premium subscribers on Elon Musk's social network X. The company is also offering Grok to enterprise clients and is developing a massive GPU cluster of 100,000 units in Memphis, nicknamed Colossus. Annual revenue has reached $100 million.

OpenAI, founded in 2015 in San Francisco, develops AI for the benefit of humanity; ChatGPT has over 250 million users with annual revenue exceeding $3.4 billion.
